Kayaking is a timeless Greystone tradition! Located at our state-of-the-art Kayaking, Sailing, and Paddle boarding facility on Lake Summit, Kayaking is introduces new skills to campers while having fun with their friends and playing on the lake. Counselors will teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced campers throughout the summer. Kayaking experience is required!
Kayaking begins each class with a quick introduction to the day’s activity. Whether it’s passing a level, working on a paddle roll, or taking a trip out to the main lake, the priority is always to get out in the boats as soon as possible.
On the Kayaking staff, you will be an essential part of a close-knit team that will balance safety with fun. Our Kayaking staff encourages and engages with our campers throughout the class, helping them to achieve their goals and surpass their expectations. You will love working on our Kayaking staff if you enjoy encouraging those around you while also having a keen eye for safety and detail.
For June, Main, and August Camps, we have 5 classes in the morning and two classes in the afternoon that are 40 minutes long. Kayaking classes are two periods long to give girls plenty of time to walk over to the Putt Cove area and get suited up.
Our Kayaking staff participates in pre-camp training led by a local professional that focuses on teaching strategies and water safety. All Kayaking staff are required to attend Lifeguard training. This training will take place at Greystone.
Greystone is so much more than just a fun summer job. Here you’ll work hard and navigate challenges in a supportive environment, growing as a leader and as a professional. Invest in your future with a summer at camp!
